stupid cupid

CJ and AUD go on a trip to SF for irmz & chris's birthday, 2007.

Irma and Chris have birthdays close enough that they decided to combine a little bash in 2007.
The plan was: dinner at Rainforest cafe, which is always a fun dining experience
then go to an outdoor ice skating rink & skate under the stars.
In the winter San Francisco has an outdoor skating rink.

CJ and I decided to go a little earlier and spend some QT with the city that I love.
We stopped by the bow and arrow called "Cupid's Span"
a sculpture by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen.
We took some pictures and looked like tourists but who cares? We got some great pics out of it!

One of our awesome pics!

stupid cupid

The ice skating rink was too packed & we wouldn't be able to skate until wayy late so we all decided to take a walk around San Francisco. I love that city too much.

At the dinner table. I was throwing up the heart sign.

It was a wonderful evening with a lot of my great friends. What more can a girl ask for?

pumpkin patching

CJ and AUD have our first time pumpkin patching, October, 2008.

I love my birthday, not only because it is my birthday but also because it is a reminder that my favorite time of year is coming!
I love the holiday season.
I love Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.
I love the fact that I spend it every year with the people I love the most.
I love the food I get to eat.
I love it. period.

This picture was from the first time we went to the pumpkin patch together.
We walked around,
checked out some big & little pumpkins (I'm partial to the little ones),
and took videos of our "crib."
It was a fun day, and every year we (try) to go pumpkin patching during this time of year.

Below is a video from our first pumpkin patching experience. Enjoy!

BUCKET LIST TO DO: carve a pumpkin (yes, I have never done that before) and get lost in a corn maze.

"What are men compared to rocks & trees?

CJ and AUD go to Yosemite, 2011.

A quick trip through Yosemite, but lasting memories and breathless scenery!

October 11, 2011.
We were coming back to CA from Hawthorne, NV (I had an interview... my very first one might I add).
We came through Yosemite going TO Hawthorne, and decided going through it on the way home. We also wanted to do a short hike if time permitted.

At a rest stop, you can see Half Dome (by my shoulder)

Such a beautiful day and a beautiful view!

We went to the "floor" of Yosemite, where we did a (tiny 1000 feet) hike to check out one of the falls.
This was Bridal something falls.

We were by ourselves for a while so we took a bunch of pics.
We tried SOO hard to get one of both of us jumping but none of them turned out.

On our way out, we saw our second deer of the day!!
This one was just walking along the side of the road. Pretty cool!

BUCKET LIST TO DO: possibly a 7-day hike around Yosemite as well as climb Half Dome.

bob loblaw law blog

CJ and AUD travel to Nevada, 2011.

Cj has recently got me hooked on watching Arrested Development on Netflix.
Is anyone else a big fan of it?
Anyway, apparently they are filming a new season & also a MOVIE!
Granted, it will come out in 2013, but whatever. It's awesome.

My first time in Yosemite National Park!

CJ and I enjoying the SNOW! Winter in early october, whodathunk?
& I threw a snowball at CJ and he never knew it was coming...

(CJ: it looked so much bigger in person A: that's what she said... heh jk)

We made a short pit stop to take a picture of the majestic mountains of Eastern Yosemite!

Here's a video of us cruising in Yosemite.

Leaving Yosemite entering the dry desert NV

So, it took about an hour to finally arrive at Hawthorne, but we made it here alive.

he said, she said

CJ and AUD party like a one year old, 2011.

Yesterday was baby Hector's first birthday!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADORABLE LITTLE BOY!!

Being at the institute building was a nice reminder of the good old days!
We also sat in the chair below & it brought back memories of this picture!

a little background:
Irma and I took an interpersonal communication class at SCC.
In that class we watched a 1991 movie called He Said, She Said (check it out here) and there was a part in the film where the female character throws a cup at the male characters head.

I don't know what I found so hilarious about this, but when CJ and I first started dating in 'o7 we went to an FHE thing at the institute where we had root beer floats at the end.
We decided to remake a photo of the scene that I love in He Said, She Said.
(except he didn't actually throw it at my head... we wouldn't be together still if he did)

OK, back to cute Hector & awesome family...
daddy, baby, & mommy
The birthday boy finally fell asleep in my arms at the end of the day!

It's hard to believe that this picture was taken a year ago!
(our visit to the happy family in the hospital on 10/09/10)

At baby Hector's blessing... (11/28/10)
I guess I make him sleepy all the time.

Tie-Dyeing experience

CJ and AUD do tie-dye, 2011.

Today CJ chose the adventure we are going to tell you all & he chose this...

our tie-dyeing fun!!!!

So, quickly before he bites off my head (we're supposed to go to Sprint to check out iPhone 4s prices).

It was a few days before we were headed to Southern California, September 4-7, 2011.
We went to Joann's fabrics one day to pick up some fabric. They were OUT of the fabric, but CJ saw in the sale bin a 50% off tie-dyeing kit!!! I have ALWAYS wanted to tie-dye and had recently been bugging CJ about it so he bought it!
We spent the rest of the evening going around Vacaville stores looking for the perfect shirts to tie-dye. Thank you Old Navy for your sales & awesome white shirts!

We are tie-dyeing professionals!

We were tie-dyeing machines. In 3 days we tie-dyed 1 tank top, 6 shirts, and 1 sweater.
CJ had a little too much fun. His bro (hey brotha!) Trevor made a shirt as well!

& if I say for myself, I think they turned out AMAZE-ZING!!!

CJ's shirt came out ridiculously well.

One of my cool shirts!

Ojisan in his awesome shirt CJ made him.

My tank top & Trevor's shirt (hey brotha!)

My super warm, super cool sweater making an appearance at the happiest place on earth (california adventures!)

Needless to say, I have gotten many requests from friends and family who want an original CJ/AUD tie-dye design. =)

ALSO, if anyone is wondering, we used the Tulip Ultimate Tie-Dyeing kit.

Sunrise Romance

CJ and AUD go on a sunrise hike, 2010.

Watching the sun rise in the morning is one of my simple pleasures in life.
There is something about it that makes me happy inside, more than sunsets (though those are very beautiful as well).
For others, it could be that it's as simple as starting a new day.
For me, sunrises remind me that I have an entire day ahead of me...
Life goes by way too fast and it is so easy to fall into a routine that doesn't allow you to actually ENJOY life and what it has to offer. I fall victim to this all the time!

On a cold, winter morning on January 14, 2010, CJ and I set out to hike up one of the hills in Vacaville to watch the sun rise.
It was pretty dark when I got to his house (around 6 a.m. which was not too bad for me because at this point I was working that early and was used to it... CJ, however, is NOT a morning person so he wasn't too happy about it).

We hiked the hill I liked to call "heart attack hill" only because it was some good cardio!
It was muddy and my white (now brown) shoes did not appreciate it much.
There were roosters that were crowing all morning and I kept commenting on how nature's alarm clock is so much more annoying than my alarm that plays music.
It was also FREEZING.

Geared up for the freezing cold weather! NOTE TO SELF: NEXT TIME BRING TISSUES!

We stopped about 2/3 up and climbed a rock and watched the sun begin to wake the quiet city.
We soon decided that we should head to the top, and I'm glad we did because it was amazing.

Moral of the story, watching the sun rise is awesome.
Watching the sun rise with the love of my life...
best feeling in the world.

24

CJ and AUD go to the California Academy of Sciences, 2011.

Yesterday was my (Audrey) birthday so I ended up spending the weekend in a celebratory manner.
I am not entirely excited about turning 24 because I think it is the gateway to "old"
(ok, it's not, but I like being a child. I don't wanna grow up I'm a toys-r-us kid!!)
The best thing about having a great boyfriend is that on your birthday he says, "Whatever you want!" What a catch!
On Saturday, we decided to spend the day in San Francisco and go to the California Academy of Sciences, you can visit the website here. I have never been but we've gone to places like the Exploratorium (thumbs up!) and the Tech Museum in San Jose (thumbs up!) and we thoroughly enjoyed both so I figured we would enjoy the Academy of Sciences.

In the rainforest area with the butterflies flying freely around.

"I like to move it move it. I like to move it move it. I like to move it move it.... MOVE IT!!!"

Looking at the cool scenery

BUTTERFLY!!!

This incredibly large snake looked like it could possibly break the window and attack me.

CJ and I played a game where we guessed how much this fish weighed. Which reminds me now that I was supposed to ask one of the workers how much it weighs (In my mind they know this information, why wouldn't they? If I worked there I'd wanna know!)
We tried REALLY hard to count how many fish were in this tank. I decided that I would like to one day have a tank this big and have it be the wall of my bedroom.

Hanging out in front of the wall tank!

LOOK!!! I FOUND NEMO!! YESSSS!!

Turtle that was standing up. I have never seen this before in my life.

On the roof with the famous roof grass stuff.

looking toward the de Young museum.. I'd like to go there one day too.

I totally planked it.

Afterwards, CJ and I went to Jack London Square, Oakland to go to Il Pescatore.
The restaurant where we went on our first date.
We haven't gone there since 2007 and so it has been a long time.
The food was not as amazing as I had remembered, but to the restaurant's defense, there was a notice that there are new owners.

Here's a vid of us on our way to Oakland.

Our recreation of our first date photo.
Oh how we've grown and changed in the 4+ years that we've been together.
What a great adventure!

First blog... First date!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
Hello readers!
CJ and Audrey welcome you on our new project of blogging! Although it is mostly Audrey that will be composing these blogs, CJ will be adding his two cents in whenever he pleases!

Basically, I (Audrey) was inspired to start a blog that would be about the Adventures of CJ the great and Audrey the awesome.
I thought it would be cool to have posts with pictures/videos and stories of the adventures we go on, the adventures we have been on, and the possible adventures we will go on in the future!

So, in honor of our first blog I thought it was appropriate to start it off with remembering our first date...

April 28, 2007. Our First Date.

CJ and I, accompanied by CJ's friend Gil & his girlfriend at the time (Melissa? I'm pretty sure), went to Jack London Square, Oakland to have dinner at a little italian restaurant named Il Pescatore. It was reaallly yummy authentic italian food! You can check it out here. It's a rather charming place right on the waterfront.

Dinner consisted of me and Melissa getting to know one another as CJ sat quietly in his chair. I thought he was not into me at all because he didn't even care to get to know me! (CJ: I didn't want Gil and Melissa to feel left out. AUD: yeah riiiight).

After dinner we took some pictures on the pier area and then headed to San Jose to watch STOMP.

**Side note: STOMP is a "unique combination of percussion, movement and visual comedy" and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good show! It is a touring show so you will have to check the website here for when they are in town again.

After the show, CJ and I talked the entire way home (Wow, the date started at the very end of it!)
CJ walked me to my door (he is quite the gentleman) and gave me a hug and thanked me for a nice evening. He later text messaged me thanking me again. We have spoke to each other every night since.
