wedding edition: Save the Date photos

Engaged-ments photos for our Save the Date magnets, 2012.

After getting engaged in December of 2011, we had some "buffer" time to think about wedding plans...
We knew we wanted to do it on our anniversary (June 8) and planning a wedding in 6 months was NOT what I wanted to do, so we decided June 8, 2013 was our date.

Next up was planning where...
This was easier extremely harder than we thought!

It was a back and forth decision between small, intimate destination wedding or huge all nighter partay
CJ & I both went to an amazing destination wedding in Tulum, Mexico and were completely sold on destination weddings, but it was rough thinking that our entire families wouldn't be able to make it.
(I was most concerned about my grandparents not being able to come.)

In the end, we (all) agreed on a destination wedding (to a less "culture shock" place) in Hawaii
and then a larger party later in the year with invites to everyone!

So next up was sending out Save the Dates...

CJ's dad is a great photographer and was so gracious to take photos for our Save the Dates!

Who: C&A (obv) and CJ's dad
What: photography sesh
Where: Vacaville Creekwalk
When: Sometime in 2012 - late spring-early summer
Why: Save the Date photos

It was a beautiful and sunny afternoon in Vacaville, so lighting/shade was an issue...

As far as "poses" we kinda just winged it

One of those set upts that look ultra cheesy but we didn't even know what we were doing

Walked around a bit trying to find the perfect area

This little waterfall area was a difficult picture because it had railing in front of it, so CJ is actually sitting on the railing and I'm sitting on him...

THIS is the picture we ultimately went with for our Save the Date magnets & I love it

Another favorite of ours...

If it weren't for such harsh lighting, this picture would have been our first choice!

My soon-to-be father-in-law & our photographer for the day!
Thank you!!!

Olson men! (missing trevor!)

It was such a good day overall and it didn't take too long.
Designing the magnet probably took longer!

Next up in wedding plans was obviously the second most important part:
choosing my ladies!
